Running a business is hugely rewarding, but it often means working at unusual hours. Late evenings, early mornings, and even weekends are often par for the course. Having a dedicated space to do this makes the experience not only more productive but also far more enjoyable.

We’re excited to share a recent project from our own home: the transformation of a lovely, light-filled garden room into a multifunctional home office.

From Garden Room to Workspace

This particular room was already one of our favourites, thanks to its abundance of natural light and connection to the garden. We wanted to keep that airy feeling while making the space more practical for daily use.

Our goal was to create a space where we could:

  • Work comfortably and efficiently

  • Store our collection of books and glassware

  • Keep the space versatile for family use

  • Ensure it felt as beautiful as it is functional

The fitted office furniture has been designed to maximise every inch of the room. Tall cabinetry provides ample storage for files, books, and display pieces, while keeping the overall look sleek and uncluttered.

Hidden cable tidies deal with those pesky wires that so often spoil a room’s calm, and integrated charging pads mean we no longer have to hunt for disappearing cables. It’s the kind of thoughtful detail that makes day-to-day life so much smoother.

A Family Space

While this room is primarily a working office, it’s also become a space that works for the whole family. The combination of storage and display has given us a place to enjoy our glass collection, while still feeling calm and organised.

Even the dogs have claimed their favourite spot! And at least now, when Jamie finds himself working those unsocial hours, the setting makes the experience much more enjoyable.

Why We Love It

For us, this project is a reminder of how fitted furniture can truly transform a space. By tailoring the design to our exact needs, we’ve created a room that works hard for us but also feels welcoming, personal, and beautiful.

It’s a wonderful example of how multifunctional spaces can be both practical and joyful to live in—and a testament to what thoughtful design can achieve.
