Oak Jacobean Style Coffer

An imposing Oak coffer from the Jacobean period, with a thumb-moulded top. The panelled front features fluted carving, stop-fluted stiles and three arcaded panels. Coffers or “chests” were originally used for storing weaponry, but were later utilised for the storage of bedroom linen and textiles.

Spillages should be removed promptly.
